School was never really for me, but when I started working with my hands, I found my strength. I quickly developed a passion for welding



In my daily work, I am part of the production team at Mekoprint’s metal factory in Hornslet, where we handle a wide range of tasks within mechanical systems and total welded solutions. We work on everything from one-off productions to smaller series of welded total solutions, which means that no two days are the same.

I have been given more responsibility over time, and becoming a fully qualified worker has only increased my motivation. As a welder at Mekoprint, there is always something new to learn, and that motivates me!

From part-time job to an apprenticeship

I started at Mekoprint in 2020 as a cleaner because I was looking for a part-time job. But it didn’t take long before welding caught my interest, and I was given the opportunity to start an apprenticeship. My apprenticeship has been characterized by a steep learning curve, with new challenges and increasing responsibility along the way.

What I enjoy about working as a welder is the balance between precision and efficiency. We work within millimeters, often with tolerances down to 2 mm, and there are many factors to consider along the way, such as heat zones, welds, and material properties.

Teamwork and development

 

One of the things that has made the biggest difference for me is the people I have worked with. I have had colleagues who took the time to teach me and trusted me with responsibility.

My apprenticeship at Mekoprint has been defined by strong teamwork and a daily work environment where we solve tasks together. There is always room to ask questions and share ideas, which makes a real difference in everyday work.

When I'm not at work, I spend some time at the gym and playing games with my brother.
