Foil laser cutting

For smaller series, laser cutting has a significant economic advantage compared to stamping. With laser cutting, the initial costs are reduced as there is no need to invest in tools. Mekoprint’s table laser produces sheets with the ability to initiate smaller production orders.

A table laser provides an opportunity to laser cut and implement rapid prototyping processes, without the development and production of tools.

Using camera marks, high-precision laser cutting can be done in a variety of materials and thicknesses – from flexible foils to plastic sheets.

Depending on the further work on the workpiece in production, the finished product can be delivered laser cut as individual items or on sheets. For delivery on sheets, the cut workpieces are left on the sheet, so they can be easily removed and placed on the product.

For high-volume production of foil items and printed electronics, with the same precision as the table laser, laser cutting can be performed using Mekoprint’s roll-to-roll system.

When laser-cutting items that are printed on rolls of flexible foil, automation is continued in the subsequent manufacturing processes. Here, the production begins and ends on rolls.

Laser cutting in a roll-to-roll setup results in a faster overall production of the many items and lower costs per item, as compared to the use of table laser.

Using this production method may involve a limitation on the thickness of the workpiece. If this is the case, a table laser is used.
