The biggest challenge for the customers we work with in the defense industry is the ability to ramp up both quickly and efficiently, while simultaneously optimizing component design and logistics. It requires collaboration and flexibility across the value chain with a variable production setup

For decades, Mekoprint has delivered components to the defense industry, though mostly in smaller volumes. Today, the company feels the effects of increasing defense investments directly in its order books. With over 30 defense customers across Europe, demand is no longer sporadic—it is growing rapidly.

Specifically, defense orders have risen from under 5% to more than 25% of its total order volume in less than a year. Additionally, Mekoprint is in dialogue with several defense companies regarding one shared challenge- the ability to ramp up both quickly and efficiently, while simultaneously optimizing component design and logistics.

Components for the defense industry

Committed to growing with the customers

Defense is a natural focus area for us, as we are geared to meet the industry's requirements for quality, documentation, and flexibility. With over 40 production technologies, an international manufacturing setup, and an organization built for close collaboration, Mekoprint can ramp up quickly in line with customer needs.

One example is the cable division, Mekoprint Cables, where demand is increasing. As a result, over 50 new colleagues are being hired in Eastern Europe for advanced assembly processes such as soldering, potting, and connector integration. At the same time, production through external partners in Asia has also ramped up—typically by combining the strengths of multiple partners.

Components on land, at sea, and in the air

Mekoprint’s solutions are part of a wide range of defense components designed to operate in some of the harshest and most unpredictable environments. This includes specially designed cable and interface solutions for tactical headsets that must maintain clear signals under strong vibrations and in noisy conditions. Other applications include interface solutions for onboard ship communications equipment and micro components  for drone systems, where low weight and high precision are critical.

Many components are designed to withstand UV radiation, moisture, extreme temperature changes, and mechanical stress—without compromising on reliability or usability.

It is precisely the combination of robust engineering and tailored design that makes Mekoprint a strong development and manufacturing partner.
