Mekoprint is sharpening its focus on sustainability and transparency with
the introduction of a new CO2 product calculator and expanded ESG reporting. These initiatives have already contributed to a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions relative to revenue over the past three years. Mekoprint expects to achieve full CO2 neutrality at Scope 1 and 2 levels by the end of 2025.
Since 2024, the new EU sustainability reporting requirements (CSRD) have imposed higher standards of transparency and accountability on Danish companies. Mekoprint is ahead of the curve and sees significant benefits in mapping and strengthening the group’s environmental, social, and governance responsibilities.

Mekoprint has significantly lowered internal waste and water consumption. The group also has a record number of young people in education and reached its goal of having over 40% female managers two years ahead of schedule, as part of its social responsibility and diversity goals.
Competitive CO2 optimization at the component level
Over the past year, Mekoprint has developed an advanced CO2 calculator that enables
customers to assess and optimize the carbon footprint of their products. The tool allows for the calculation of CO2 scenarios based on different material choices, transportation methods, and production processes.
This makes it possible to evaluate the carbon footprint of various product designs as part of the overall resource optimization of both new and existing products. The CO2 calculator has been implemented in Mekoprint’s metal solutions production and is expected to be rolled out across other product areas by the end of 2025.
Broad engagement in sustainability initiatives
In 2023, Mekoprint established a sustainability forum with representatives from across departments and functions to ensure knowledge sharing that could inspire more and faster action. The group is dedicated to sustainable optimization, focusing on reducing resource consumption, turning natural waste into resources, and finding alternatives to environmentally damaging materials and packaging.
