Customised wiring harness for workstations in soundproof office pods and booths

Development of complex wiring harness in co-operation with Framery. The Finnish company Framery produces small, soundproof phone booths and meeting rooms that are used in offices as private spaces for video calls, hybrid and on-site meetings as well as focus work.

Framery contacted Mekoprint because the company needed a partner who could develop and produce a complicated wiring harness that could be built into the frame of one-person phone booths and larger meeting rooms. This was the beginning of an intensive development programme.

Framery designs and produces small phone booths and meeting pods that allow employees in office environments to talk to business partners without the rest of the employees listening in.

The meeting pods are also used when employees need peace to concentrate in a busy workday. Framery's solutions can accommodate from one to six employees and can therefore also be used for meetings.

Establishing the collaboration

Mekoprint was chosen as a partner because the Mekoprint Cables division has extensive experience in the development and production of complex wiring harnesses. In this case, it is a wiring harness used to control light, video, sound and ventilation.

The co-operation between Mekoprint and Framery was established quickly and meetings were held at Framery in Finland and online. The parties also visited Mekoprint's factory in Poland, where the wire harnesses are produced.

Delivering on expectations

It was crucial for Framery to find a development partner that could live up to Framery's high demands for quality and at the same time produce the solution at the right price.

The wiring harness for Framery's products is 8-10 metres long and is installed in the frames of the phone booths and meeting rooms. Therefore, the wiring harness must be of a very high and uniform quality as it must be easy and quick for the installers to set up the products at the customers' premises.
