Through joint efforts, Mekoprints total business and productivity level has so far been relatively unaffected by the Corona crisis.
No one in Mekoprint has been infected with Coronavirus, and we have been able to meet extraordinary customer needs with production for both respiratory equipment and other customer requests for larger needs and inventory than usual.
The big question is how the rest of 2020 will develop. Mekoprint collaborates with +1000 industrial customers about +10,000 unique product components that are included in everything from medical devices to robots, instruments, appliances and machines. Therefore, Mekoprints customer forecasts and order intake can also be used as one among several industrial cyclical indicators.
In the Corona period, since the beginning of March, order intake levels has overall been above index 90 in relation to budget, while the trend for the past month has been decreasing towards index 80. This is expected to continue for 2-3 months, after which the order intake level is expected to rise gradually towards the index 100 level at the end of the year.
For this reason, we try to avoid short term employee lay-offs in order to maintain all the important competences and close customer relationships that we have established over many years. We believe this is of the utmost importance in order to get out of the Corona crisis as soon as possible with both existing production and new products under development.
