Therefore, our specialists in development and design are ready to offer individual advice, so that together with each customer, we can find exactly the right solution. In this context, we can perform prototyping, so that the workpieces can be customised to the customer’s needs. Only when the design has been tested and approved will production of the actual automated stamping tool be started.
At Mekoprint, we have extensive know-how and many years of experience in stamping. In addition to our regular stamping, we offer our customers high-volume stamping, also called progressive die stamping, which is used for large quantities. For order sizes of around 10–20,000 workpieces per year, it will be worthwhile to develop a special tool that makes it possible to stamp, punch, emboss, bend, perform deep drawing and shape M2 to M12 in material thicknesses from 0.1 to 6 mm.
Progressive die stamping is an unmanned machining process, where the material is fed directly from a roll of material – a coil. It is possible here to stamp, bend, punch, thread and perform deep drawing, which makes the process incredibly efficient and competitive.
High-volume deep drawing and stamping are used for many customised workpieces where there is a high output. One example of this are batteries for the automotive and solar power industries.
In such batteries, there is an active battery component where the sheet volumes are so large, they have resulted in an automated stamping solution, where the workpieces are stamped out from coils.
This ensures a cost-effective and consistent solution for the customer. Next, a semi-automatic welding and assembly cell is developed, followed by surface treatment and delivery straight to the customer’s production line in accordance with carefully aligned quality requirements.
