At Mekoprint, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and CO2 emissions. We achieve this by decreasing resource consumption and enhancing sustainability through optimized product development, logistics, and supply chain management, as outlined in the ESG report. Our efforts are supported by annual supplier sustainability and quality assessments, ensuring thorough reporting and mitigation of environmental impacts.

Social

Social responsibility is integral to our culture. We are committed to being a great workplace with independent teams. This includes promoting human rights and fostering a collaborative, inclusive work environment. Our high standards extend to our suppliers, as outlined in the "Mekoprint Partner Code of Conduct." Additionally, we prioritize long-term support for children and young people by fostering local job opportunities and supporting volunteer initiatives for youth development.

Governance

At Mekoprint, governance means responsible management with clear roles and procedures, as outlined in our ISO 9001:2015 Management System. The Board of Directors oversees governance through annual risk assessments, strategy updates, and action planning. Since 2012, our Code of Conduct has guided ethical cooperation between Mekoprint, its employees, and suppliers, ensuring our operations align with our commitment to act responsibly and fairly towards all stakeholders.

It is in our DNA to keep improving and we're working hard to become a leading sustainable development and production partner. The biggest impact relies on our shared ability to develop more sustainable products and processes. By combining our capabilities we can rethink our design and process habits into cradle-to-cradle thinking, from material selection, to packaging, transportation and recycling.

Our current focus is enhancing ESG transparency and improvements, and establishing a proactive customer-facing advisory role, particularly emphasizing CO2 reduction. Our ESG standards and processes are audited annually by EcoVadis, resulting in a “Sustainability Rating.” In 2023, this audit resulted in a rating of 67, placing Mekoprint in the top 3% of comparable companies. To stay ahead of the new sustainability reporting requirements effective January 1, 2024, we have begun working with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) since 2023. We completed a “Double Materiality Assessment” to identify our most significant impacts, risks, and opportunities related to all stakeholders. Towards 2025 our strategic goals include:

Achieving CO2 neutrality at scope 1-2
Developing CO2 item calculation to evaluate and reduce scope 3
Becoming SBTi certified
Preparing CSRD reporting for 2025/2026
Achieving EcoVadis Gold Rating

Since 1996, Mekoprint has been certified according to DS/ISO 9001 and has developed a robust quality management system. In 1999, we implemented an environmental management system certified according to DS/ISO 14001 and certified according to DS/ISO 45001. Quality documentation has always been in our DNA, exemplified by our distinction as the first Danish company to receive triple ISO certification in the 1990s. Today, our environmental and occupational health and safety systems are integral to our quality management system.
