Electrical test with flying probe

Mekoprint performs up to 100% electrical test of screen printed capacitive touch sensors and stretchable printed sensors. With electrical test the items are thoroughly tested and functional upon delivery to the customer’s production.

The complexity of the printed electronics is increasing, and the customers’ requirements for quality assurance, test and control have therefore also grown.

The printed items’ functionality can be tested in different ways and at all stages of production.

100% electrical test of the finished parts can be conducted, but regular testing can also be done during the production process.

TOMORROW’S COMPLEX PRINTED SOLUTIONS

The growing use of touch technology in both consumer applications and professional machinery has also meant increased attention on the printed solutions.

In the white goods industry in particular, there has been a shift from the use of relatively simple touch solutions towards increasingly complex solutions with touch functionality.

The solutions both contain more complex electronics and are produced on flexible and stretchable materials, which also places special demands on process control.

Mekoprint has invested in ground-breaking equipment, so that the products of the future can be function tested through a secure process and in a cost effective manner before they enter the customer’s further high-volume production.

TESTING ROLL-TO-ROLL (R2R)

Mekoprint is a co-developer and investor in one of the world’s first machines for automatic electrical test of printed electronics on rolls.

In a high-volume production setup, items in large series are tested very efficiently and with the possibility of designing the test process exactly to customer requirements.

The test process is designed and carried out with flying probe technology, which is both a highly accurate test setup and one that can be started with low startup costs.

TESTING OF SMALLER SERIES SIZES

With smaller series sizes and prototype processes, tests of electrical functionality may also be performed.

If the capacitive touch sensors are produced on sheets or cut into format, the tests are adapted to each task.
