Mekoprint is often involved in the customer’s product development from the very beginning of a project. The reason is not vanity, but because this allows us to work together to find the best possible solution, based on specialised knowledge of products and production technology. Through open dialogue, Mekoprint’s globally oriented design centre offers expert advice.

Supply Chain Management

OPTIMISATION OF THE VALUE CHAIN

Mekoprint’s global logistics system matches the customer’s needs and is controlled from a local SCM support centre that optimises the customer’s value chain.

Mekoprint’s flexible production in Denmark, Eastern Europe and Asia offers global delivery and a reduced time-to-market.

Components produced in Asia can be sent directly to the customer’s factory in the same place. The Asian deliveries are checked by Mekoprint’s local office in Hong Kong.

IT in our everyday

DIGITAL AND REAL TIME

Since Mekoprint introduced iPads, the company’s production has been 100% paperless. This creates access to all relevant working documents – in real time and close at hand.

With the digitisation of all processes, the administrative workflow has been optimised significantly, which supports the collaboration with our customers.

LEAN

DAILY PROCESSES AND CONCRETE MEASURES

At Mekoprint, lean has been introduced based on the notion that actions must be concrete and at eye level with the staff, so that everyone is involved in the process. Work is done with the idea of managing processes smarter, and not just to cut costs.

Mekoprint’s daily processes have been adjusted and productivity improved in all phases. The entire value chain has been, and remains, the focus, and turnaround times are measured in both production and administration. With several weekly whiteboard meetings, all work processes are monitored and progress is ensured.

At Mekoprint, we have created a special lean culture, where everyone in the company contributes to the positive development. Staff suggestions for improvements are received positively by management, who have long recognised that the best ideas often come from the people who deal with the processes every day.

USE OF IT IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Mekoprint has introduced iPads for all production staff, and achieved a 100% digital, paperless workflow. This means that staff can follow customer orders at all stages until delivery, as well see work and process descriptions, various drawings and order status. Simply put, work is done in real time with updated documentation, and with a minimum of administrative time spent.
