Deburring of metal

At Mekoprint, we understand the desire for a nice, smooth surface, and therefore offer high-quality deburring for our customers.

We have many years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing, and therefore know the disadvantages of burrs and sharp edges.

In the automated process, Mekoprint has the following limitations:

  • Max. height: 25 mm
  • Max. width: 1300 mm
  • Max. length: 2000 mm

Deburring of sheet metal and components

The process is used for the post-treatment of metals. Below are some examples:

  • Workpieces that have been laser cut or punched
  • Machine components
  • Metal components that need deburred edges, that cannot be sharp to the touch.

Mekoprint offers finishing of workpieces in the following materials:

  • Aluminium
  • Stainless steel
  • Iron, including coated iron
  • Brass
  • Copper
  • Other materials can also be deburred, but are not used often.

The deburring machinery and process

The process is efficiently used for the finishing of metal, typically workpieces that have been laser cut or punched that has the need for deburred edges.

Mekoprint has two automatic machines. One deburrs the workpieces while they are wet, and the second deburr sharp edges and holes on dry workpieces.

The proces can be performed as an automated process with deburring machinery and as a manual process, in form of vibratory deburring and grinding. The vibratory deburring is especially great when it comes to deburring of holes that grinding can not do.
Both systems use sandpaper as the main deburring material. You can choose between several different grains, depending on the desired coarseness in the finishing.

The process can also be carried out manually on workpieces not suitable for automatic finishing.

Our division Mekoprint Micromechanics perform electrochemical deburring of fine mechanical parts.
