The market continues to demand shorter lead times, lower costs and consistently high quality from contract manufacturers. To meet these expectations, Mekoprint has invested in in-house powder coating at its Mechanic Systems site in Hornslet.
At Mekoprint’s metal factory in Hornslet, larger mechanical systems and steel constructions are manufactured, where multiple machining and surface treatment processes are integrated into the production of customer components. Production ranges from single-piece manufacturing to medium-volume series, where Mekoprint delivers finished components.

Powder coating for demanding environments
Powder coating is a durable and more environmentally friendly method of surface treatment for materials such as steel and aluminium. The process provides a robust finish that withstands heavy wear and high temperatures.
Mekoprint’s customers have high requirements for surface quality in applications used in demanding environments, such as transport systems and the wind industry. With the new powder coating facility, Mekoprint is better positioned to compete for projects where quality, durability and lead time must align across multiple processes.
At the same time, the integrated solution reduces the need for transportation between suppliers. Combined with powder coating as a more environmentally friendly surface treatment, this results in a solution that is both robust in use and more sustainable in production.
Mekoprint is one of Denmark’s largest contract manufacturers within metal processing and employs more than 250 specialists across its production sites in Aalborg East, Støvring, Hornslet, Humlebæk and Stargard in Poland.
