LINAK is a leading global developer and manufacturer of electric linear actuators used in everything from height-adjustable desks to hospital beds, helping to improve ergonomics and quality of life for people around the world. Market conditions place high demands on quality, delivery reliability, and cost efficiency – while also requiring reductions in CO₂ emissions.
The collaboration with Mekoprint has developed over more than 25 years and includes high-volume production of a range of metal components and enclosures, with a shared focus on continuous improvements in product design, material selection, and waste reduction.
CO₂ reduction as an integrated part of the optimisation efforts
Using Mekoprint’s CO₂ component calculator, Mekoprint analysed the production and identified specific CO₂ savings as part of the overall optimisation initiative.
The measures include:
-
Improved punching layout and optimised raw material width
-
Transition to CO₂-neutral electricity from in-house solar panels and external wind energy
These optimisations reduce material consumption and the CO₂ footprint per component while also contributing to lower unit prices and higher process efficiency.
Specifically, the initiatives have resulted in:
-
99 tonnes less material consumption
-
180 tonnes reduction in CO₂ emissions
-
5.34% CO₂ reduction per product
All of this has been achieved without compromising quality, while simultaneously strengthening competitiveness.
