The metal welding process is a specialty at Mekoprint. Over the years, our staff have obtained skills, experience and expertise in this particular area.

The proces is an excellent joining method, when the joint must be fully closed and sealed. Examples are specific products such as electronics cabinets and liquid containers, or products where the design requires special joints.

Mekoprint offers welding of all common materials such as:

  • Steel
  • Aluminium
  • Stainless steel

TIG, CMT, MIG, MAG welding

Mekoprint offers metal joining methods with and without filler material. These include:

  • MIG, MAG
  • TIG
  • CMT
  • Laser joining

With TIG and MIG, inactive shielding gases like argon or helium are used to ensure that no undesirable chemicals such as carbon and nitrogen enter the metals.

With MAG, the active gas carbon dioxide is used as a shielding gas, which is why this process is often called CO2-welding.

Precise LASER WELDING

Mekoprint’s departments offer joining of anything from the finest micro mechanical workpieces to large metal solutions.

The laser ensures a low heat impact on the material, and the process is therefore extremely important and effective for the joining of micro mechanical components, as the material is not affected.

The process is also very safe and delivers an incredible finish that will not need reworking.

STUD welding

Attachment of stays and bushings are normally used in productions where welded rods and bushings must be invisible on the opposite side. This is often used for front panels and the like.

Mekoprint is able to perform stud welding within the following limits:

  • Max. workpiece size: 1000 x 750 mm – for large workpieces, a gun can perform the mounting.
  • Min. sheet thickness: 1.0 mm.
  • Thread size in welding rod or bushing: M2 – M8.

Mekoprint offers attachments of stud in the following materials:

  • Iron
  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminium

It is also possible to stud weld other metals, but the rods or bushings do not come in all metals.
